Rooted in an ancient craft yet alive in the modern era, each tile is hand-cut to fit seamlessly into its chosen space, minimising the need for adjustments and making installation effortless. Every piece is then hand-carved and inlaid with words, symbols, or imagery that echo your passions, dreams, and inspirations. Or, if you prefer, you can entrust Mel’s instinct and expertise to design something especially for you and the spirit of your space.
No two tiles are ever alike. Each is unique, original, and impossible to replicate. Depending on the design, the journey from vision to finished creation takes between four and eight weeks. The coloured clays , Mel’s own recipes, are fired deep into the tile, meaning their richness and vibrancy will never fade. This time-honoured encaustic technique has endured for millennia; ancient floors uncovered today still hold their colour, their beauty undimmed.
